Chesterfield Township · October Routes

Sprinkler blowouts in Chesterfield Township.

Chesterfield Township is heavy with newer construction, and every October it's full of homeowners facing their system's first winter. If your home was built in the last few years, this is the one to get right: the landscaper who installed the system rarely comes back to winterize it, and the builder's warranty doesn't cover a manifold that froze because nobody blew the lines out.

The Work

What a blowout covers at your house.

Compressed air pushed through every zone at 50 to 60 PSI — never above 80 — until each one runs dry mist. Backflow preventer isolated with test cocks and ball valves left at 45 degrees. Controller shut down for the winter. When we pull out of the driveway, you get a text with your zone count and anything worth knowing about. We tow a 185 CFM compressor so volume does the work, because pressure is what cracks fittings and melts rotor gear drives.

Chesterfield Township Questions

Asked on our Chesterfield Township routes.

This is my system's first winter. What do I actually need?

One blowout before the first hard freeze — that's it. We'll also note your zone count and controller setup in the completion text, so next year you're not guessing at what you have.

My builder said the system self-drains. True?

Self-draining valves help, but gravity can't empty low heads, lateral bellies, or the backflow assembly. Every self-draining system we service still pushes water out when the air goes through — that water is what splits fittings in January.

When is it too late for a blowout?

In Macomb County the first hard freeze usually lands in the first half of November and it does not warn you. Anything still holding water when the ground freezes is at risk. October is the window.

Do I need to be home?

No. We need access to the controller and the backyard. Leave the gate unlocked or send the code, and we will text you a summary when we pull out of the driveway.
