Self-draining valves help, but gravity can't empty low heads, lateral bellies, or the backflow assembly. Every self-draining system we service still pushes water out when the air goes through — that water is what splits fittings in January.
When is it too late for a blowout?
In Macomb County the first hard freeze usually lands in the first half of November and it does not warn you. Anything still holding water when the ground freezes is at risk. October is the window.
Do I need to be home?
No. We need access to the controller and the backyard. Leave the gate unlocked or send the code, and we will text you a summary when we pull out of the driveway.
